How can compassion unlock your transformation?

I have yet to meet someone without some armor — suits of protection we put on when very young. Sometimes, we forget to take it off, and it gets in the way of our goals and authentic expression.… sometimes, we need a guide to walk to reach these parts of ourselves we know are there.

Real transformation requires alchemy.

The gold is forged from the challenge or wound.  The often untold stories of success are about what happens in the heat of adversity or crisis.  This type of alchemy is all about uncovering your gifts and creating the conditions that will enable you to transcend old patterns, old fears, and old narratives.

Compassionate Inquiry

I work with the Compassionate Inquiry approach. Compassionate Inquiry (CI) is a psychotherapeutic approach developed by Dr. Gabor Maté, author and expert on trauma, stress, addiction, and childhood development. The CI approach explores the root of an issue or the stories that people may be telling themselves. Using the Compassionate Inquiry system, both the individual and therapist unveil the level of consciousness, mental climate, hidden assumptions, implicit memories, and body states that words both express and conceal.  Read more.

CI sessions are incorporated into my coaching work to nurture conditions for compassion, which in turn support transformation and growth. CI helps clients:

  • Reinterpret imposter’s syndrome as a sign of progress towards personal purpose.

  • Neutralize one’s internal critic

  • Discover patterns around (self) judgment that limit potential.

  • Face the fear of being seen or visible – bringing out a unique contribution to the world.

  • Explore and rebalance relational dynamics that involve one’s authentic power and inner security.

  • Break down old mental structures: People who go against the grain of societal expectations often confront similar mental structures in themselves. Transformation begins from the inside out.

"There is nothing stronger than gentleness and nothing gentler than true strength."

—Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

This is sacred work. Together, we journey to the unknown or unconscious layers of an experience to explore the depths of an issue, understanding the nature and origins of how it was formed. We reunite with parts of ourselves that hold keys to the present moment. We establish new paths forward, including the necessary learning and rewiring along the way.

After the initial Compassionate Inquiry session, a follow-up session focuses on the integration of what has emerged and imagining any next steps that support personal goals.
